I went to Italy back in 2012 and watched a game between ACF Fiorentina and some other team. It was a 0-0 tie in the freezing rain but I wouldn't mind going back to watch another game in better conditions.
I guess if I lived in a big Soccer town like Seattle or somewhere out west (I feel like they care more about soccer than southerners overall) then maybe I'd be more invested.
I watched a good deal of the World Cup though.
