Try to follow it. Really enjoy international play though. I enjoy anything when it's country vs country. Hell, I'd probably watch a few minutes of an international knitting competition if it was on TV.
Edit: I try to follow Liverpool.

I wish Champions League wasn't on the middle of the afternoon on weekdays, because it's the obvious route to hook Americans on the club competitions.
The atmosphere for a big European match at night is on par or better than college football. It sucks you in.

Yeah. I've only watched a handful of CL games because I'm always working during the week. I'm not going to DVR two teams I really don't care about.

I'm 49. Until I went off to college and met Atlanta people, I didn't even know there was such a thing as competitive soccer in the US - honestly. I've always held a prejudice against the sport ("un-American") until my daughter, now 8, started playing. I have to admit that it's a fun sport to watch and I'm enjoying it.

I don't keep up with MLS, though I do go to games when superstars come into town: Henry, Beckham, Villa, etc.
I flew up to NYC and saw Henry when they played Arsenal. I know a lot of MLS fans still feel above getting the superstar past his prime for money no one else is willing to pay, but I don't care. MLS has a long way to go and we need every big name we can get. I mean. I watch 20x the amount of Arsenal games that I ever will FC Dallas(I think I have only ever seen a couple of playoff games), but now that Houston and Dallas are in the same conference I'll definitely try and catch the Texas Derby.

I have to admit, I only followed soccer at first because my friend was a really annoying Chelsea fan, and I wanted to pick a rival just to frick with him... but following an English club is a LOT of fun. There is so much going on. The TV coverage is great, the highlights are amazing, and above all else it's been a ton of fun to learn something new.
And the personalities involved and the stories are out of this world. Jose Mourinho is more hated than Nick Saban/Urban Meyer/Lane Kiffin combined. And for good reason. Luis Suarez bites people. Zlatan is just a bad arse. Ronaldo vs Messi is always so entertaining. Chel$ki is the personification of evil. Roman Abramovich is probably the shadiest business man in the world. The Aluminum Wars, his acquisition of Sibneft, and his relationships with Yeltsin and Putin essentially make him a James Bond villain. Except instead of trying to blow up the moon or some shite, he bought a soccer team in the posh part of London. And Chel$ki's "Captain Legend Leader" is a racist, and was banging a teammates wife. Which is almost as bad as Manchester United's greatest player, Ryan Giggs.
For any of those trying to pick a team I would suggest:
Arsenal
Manchester United
Chel$ki
Everton
Tottenham
Liverpool

Don't forget about him and Super Frank cracking 9/11 jokes soon after the event. John Terry is a lesbian.

The New England Patriots of English Football. Their fans actually chanted "We're racist, we're racist, and that's the way we like it" while pushing a black man off a train in Paris.
That's a solid list of teams to pick from. I also have some pity for Burnley. Hoped that they would avoid relegation.

Been a Man U fan since around 1994. Had a Ryan Giggs poster on my wall back then when he was more of a role player than a star. But he played my position and i respected his attitude. Back then some of the names were:
Cantona, Cole, Ince, Schmeichal, Scholes, Beckham, Keane, Pallister, Neville, Baby face assassin, Kanchelskis, Butt, Yorke.

I'm a Sporting KC (MLS) and Arsenal (Premier League) fan. Don't follow either of them terribly close but I keep tabs on how they're doing.

Ok, I'm about to be 53 in a couple of weeks. I played organized soccer for the first time in the tenth grade and played through 12th in South Florida. I remember Pele playing for the NY Cosmos although I did not see him play in live. I did watch the second remaking of the Cosmos play against the Ft. Lauderdale Strikers. That team had German star Gerd Muller. The Cosmos at the time had Georgio Chinaglia. I watched a few of the Strikers games live.
I coach soccer in extreme South Georgia. I have coached middle school and high school level. The majority of the players are Hispanic and talk about El Tri. I enjoy harassing them and telling them that since they have been alive Team US has basically owned them. I follow our national team and try to pay attention to where our players play and root for those teams. I really have no loyalties although I do root against Man U because Rooney is Rooney and against Ronaldo because he is Ronaldo. I suppose I really need to start following Orlando City or just wait and follow the new Atlanta team. I have read that a very promising U20 player has been getting time with Arsenal so maybe I need to follow them.

QPR is my team. . .relegation is going to suck. I guess we can kiss Charlie Austin goodbye.
Really excited about Atlanta FC in '17, though.

I'm excited for Zelalem, but not too excited. We overhype these players too much. There is another U-20 midfielder who is just as likely to be the next US star (Emerson Hyndman) at Fulham. This U20 USA team is loaded with talent and should do well at the WC in New Zealand this summer.

Yeah Zelalem. I went up to NYC to watch Arsenal play the Red Bulls and he was in the lineup. Yeah definitely follow Arsenal. Just check in on their scores, watch some post game interviews and such, and download the NBC Sports App. We are playing in the FA Cup Final on the 30th at 11:30, so check us out then and see if you like us.

I really like that he's learning under Ozil. There aren't enough off the ball midfielders of Ozil's cut in the world anymore, and if Zelalem turns in to half of what Ozil is, we have a superstar.

Speaking of, what the actual frick ever happened to Freddie Adu? He was supposed to be the savior of US Soccer.
