I love it but it's probably the worst.
Have to agree. I have partied there many times and for a large university its pretty lame. I always have more fun at Texas State, which was Southwestern I believe back then (or some shite like that). The girls are way hot there too. Athens universally is considered the best every time this thread is on the rant.

Since I haven't been to the other SEC towns, I won't claim ours is the best....but CoMo's bar scene is really fricking solid. I like it more than KC's bar scene

It's really fricking solid if you are under 25.
It's very inexpensive for the quality though. Craft pints for $2, a five dollar cover is on the high side (usually no cover)

Here's the thing about State. The bars themselves aren't clubs like at Athens, BR, or Nashville. Yet, you are around people you actually want to be around, so it makes it actually bearable.

Texas States bar scene is horrendous. There are literally like five bars in San Marcos and I imagine there were less pre 2002 when you partied there

I think you mistook the hot Sloots at Texas State for a good bar scene. Understandable.

Starkville is probably the worst SEC town there is.

If you go to State it's not bad. If you don't, may God have mercy on your soul. There are some things State has that others schools don't. Like the wildlife refuge that you can ride and do just about anything you want on. Not to mention, when there is less people, you can do things a lot faster i.e. golf, REC center, etc.

Advertisement: Come to MSU, it's a wasteland with no people but when you get here you can do whatever you want and do it quickly.

I think you just twisted my words completely...

Nobody's ever been to Fayetteville or Columbia. I'd put both in the top 4 in the SEC, honestly, as far as number of bars/restaurants, walkable, and overall diversity of stuff happening any given night.

I have and they're both nice. I prefer the Ville

I remember when Fayetteville's bars were cheap and places served pitchers in general.
I'm not sure where you can get pitchers on a given night downtown Fayetteville anymore. Shitloads of craft and local beers, tho.

It has gotten a lot better over the past decade. Yeah there's a lot of work to do and it's towards the bottom but if you know the right people it is a lot of fun.
