Chocolate gravy has sugar, flour, butter, and Hershey's cocoa powder and either milk or water to thin it out. It's delicious on biscuits.

Well, that sounds a lot better than "white BBQ sauce".

So, it's basically chocolate sauce, or warm chocolate syrup? No, I've never had this, but I now plan to....

It's more of a chocolate sauce than syrup, it isn't as sweet or sticky as chocolate syrup. It has the consistency of thin brown gravy.

I grew up on it. couldn't believe it wasn't eaten everywhere when I mentioned it to someone who hadn't tried it before.

That's much thicker than what my grandma made, hers was pretty runny. But I'm sure it's good either way.

My friends say this is the right amount of thickness.

Chocolate gravy and cathead biscuits.

But I've only seen it while living living in Arky.

Gotta admit, never had that, but it looks good.

We were always buttermilk biscuits and brown gravy or redeye gravy or buttermilk biscuits and fresh honey.

I mean, I love sawmill gravy and just about any type of gravy on biscuits. But was just wondering who has had chocolate gravy and its regional areas.

My mama still makes chocolate gravy and biscuits when I go home. I demand it.

Central MS boy here. So it's in other areas. :D

This is what my mom's looks like. Little darker, but the consistency is right.

I don't understand why you start so many threads about gravy.
