Have any of you gone there before? Thinking of taking kids to Angel Fire over New Years. Any recommendations of where to stay?

Thanks!

Are you dead set on Angel Fire? Taos is bigger and a nicer mountain.

It has been too long to recommend lodging. The important thing I think is you get a reliable report on snow conditions. The chambers of commerce et. al. will LIE. My family went to Red River several years in a row and despite glorious promises they usually had to resort to the fake stuff. And one year it was so warm they couldn't even do that, despite the good report. We ended up driving north to Durango CO (Purgatory) a couple of days.

Angelfire is very nice and family friendly. It will not overwhelm you like a big resort such as Taos. I'd definitely recommend taking the family here, especially if the kids don't have much experience.

Taos is better (and tougher). Been to angel Fire and Santa fe and they're both small time in comparison.

I believe when we went last, we stayed in a ski in/ski out private lodge. That was very convenient. Try the VBRO website, that might help

You can stay in either and ski both Angel Fire or Taos, they are only 24 miles a part.
