I'm in farm land central so it would be to stay put... harvest out the crops, hunt for meats, and profit the rest of my life.

Living in hurricane country, I'm already prepared: enough food, gasoline, water, water purification equipment, survival supplies, guns, ammo, etc.
What I have will last for weeks-giving enough time to get to my home area and get settled in, which is farm land, which will yield its bounty in plant and animal. The place I'm thinking of in particular also has streams and is situated on a ridge, which makes it a defensible position, should it be necessary.

Serious and perhaps impossible question:
What is your plan if you, your wife, and children are surrounded by a roving band of maruaders who far outnumber you. The likelihood is that they will kill, probably rape your wife and enslave her, and who knows what they'll do to your children.

It depends on what I have at hand and where I am. If it came down to it, would I take lives to save mine? Yes. I don't have a wife or children, so they're not a concern.

I think it's absurd that a majority of the population laughs at preppers and believes preppers to be crazy.
I hope society never collapses. Do I trust in our government enough to believe that a collapse will never occur? No. Why should I trust the government especially in light of events that have already occurred in our past?
I'd rather have a backup plan, a "just in case" plan, than no plan at all.
And people call that crazy. Unbelievable.

I live right behind a large high school. While most people are looting the grocery store, I'm breaking into the school and raiding the cafeteria. Should get my family a couple months worth of food.

This is precisely why you would ultimately join a band of marauders. When a group of violent marauders gives you the option to either 1) join their army, or 2) die...you will choose to join their army because you won't have the balls to either kill yourself or choose death.
