Looking for the best taco, fish taco and messican food in general. Any other food recs are welcome as well. I'm not as familiar with San Diego as I am other California cities, and I'm pretty sure there are a few San Diego peoples on here.

Kiwilango Burger at Bareback Grill in PB or downtown
Taco Surf, Lucha Libre, Colima's in Oceanside, Fidel's Norte in Carlsbad, or just do Taco Tuesday at Cabo Cantina (isn't the greatest, but cheap and good)
El Toro at Phil's BBQ
Street tacos in Tijuana
Pizza and beers at Pizza Port in OB or Carlsbad
Slater's 50/50 is a pretty good burger as well
A decent fish taco is literally at most sit-down Mexican restaurants. Hard to go wrong.
Don't eat at Broken Yolk. Overrated. Hash House A Go-Go is novelty food, but the food actually is pretty good. Old Town isn't special, but Coyote isn't bad. Not going to list barbecue, but if you see tri-tip on the menu, try it out.

There used to be a fantastic burrito place on the beach, in PB I think. They were known for their breakfast burritos. Now I'm hungry.

Are you thinking Taco Surf? Or PB Fish Shop? Both are good options.
Also, Kono's Cafe is right next to the beach and is a great place to sit on the patio and take in the morning waves with a good breakfast.
If you ever end up there for football season, Miller's Field in PB is a good spot to watch games as well.
