Get him off that list and throw in some Statesboro Blues. Also, no Charlie Daniels Band?

How did "Song of the South-Alabama" not make it on a list of songs of the south?

Even though they are from CA, I think CCR's Born on the Bayou fits the parameters: it's a great song about the South, or a part of the South.

ETA and Furthermore.... Midnight Train to GA has absolutely nothing to do with the South except it has Georgia in the name. And as pointed out by another poster, it was written as Midnite (sic) train to Houston.

And why the frick not? That song is more of a historical lecture, but it's kn the history and dynamics of the greatest state in the south.

Because I think of it as more of a spoken word piece than a song.

If I never hear the song Sweet Home Alabama again, I'll be better off for it.

No kidding.

And no Hank on there either. How the hell do you put together a list like that and there literally be no Hank.

The entire Good Ol Boys record from Randy Newman should be on there. RS blows, anyway.

Thank you very much. This gives me the opportunity to offer this song.

Midnight Train to Georgia might be the best song ever.

That should be number one.
