I'd venture to say evil in itself is a mental disorder.

Not that's it's fixable or that we should focus on curing evil people. I'm not implying that. I'm just saying someone evil enough to commit this type of crime, or shoot up a school or movie theater for seemingly no reason, is certainly in a place mentally that the rest of society is not.

I watched the video and really wish I didn't. Very sad. Hate that the guy killed himself instead of being taken in or at least killed by the cops. I always feel like there's no justice when the killer kills himself. It just makes me think that his plan worked out exactly as he wanted.

His "manifesto" was posted on the OT. It seems he attributes today's shooting to church shooting in SC, Ferguson.. etc.. and that he's been a time bomb waiting to go off. By his own admission, he knew exactly what he was doing and where he was headed.

I don't think this this =

Those are not the thoughts of a rational person.....at all.

Perhaps I used the wrong word. There is no denying he was aware of his thoughts and intentions and made clear decisions to do an evil act. Choosing to hate and search out others to blame for his own failures were choices he made.

Calculated?

A common trait in psychopaths.

As I said earlier, I'm not convinced he was mentally ill, and I do think mental illness is often times used as a scapegoat for crimes. I also think it's possible to be evil and full of hate, and also be mentally ill. I lean to that being the case here.

Sounds like he already had a beef with his two victims and blames them for the loss of his job. Let's not chalk every act of violence up as some failure of our mental health system. Some people are mean and violent.

Yes, but psychopaths are typically devoid of emotion. This guy was fueled by it.

Can agree with this part.

Not really trying to jump in on this conversation but

Way too often. People think there has to be something wrong with people to want to be evil. When, imo, some people just lose the will to live and want to be remembered for anything and with the way violent acts are covered these days killing is a easy way to go out famous.

The fact that he recorded then uploaded the murders shows he was just wanting a ton of attention before suicide.

This is a good point. I find it sad that no one in his life took the time to tell him that the problem was him.

That video wasn't all that bad.

Although, I am a frequent viewer of Liveleak, so maybe it's just tame to me.

No, but stupid assholes who post gratuitous murder videos on message boards deserve to be called out.

No, frick hiding. Putting your head in the sand and pretending like truth doesn't need to be posted. This is the reality, and is a big part of our society.

If you don't want to watch it, you don't ever have to click, but for those who want to see the world in all of its horror (for whatever reason), then let them.

I watch it because I know without the bad, there is no real way to measure the good. I hate that people have to die, but acknowledge it happens every day.

You watch it because you're entertained by a couple of young people being murdered. Call it "morbid curiosity" or whatever, but it is callous and disrespectful.

I watch it because it's reality and I like to desensitize myself to these kinds of things. I live in a country where that's a joke. Since I've lived here, we've had somewhere in the realm of 30 beheadings.

Don't tell me my motives because we have different ideologies, I'll tell you what they are. I like to know what's happening, what people are capable of.

Knowing how to protect yourself is important, people call it paranoia, I call it self-defense. The world doesn't like you, it's arbitrary, cold and cruel and these videos remind me of that, to remember that there is always someone having a bad day, and to be sentient at all times.

Graphic, watch at your own discretion.

But as I said before, pretty tame for Liveleak.

People watch or don't watch for their own reasons. Some out of morbid curiosity, possibly even the majority, but there are always other reasons.

I choose not to watch because I've seen too much video like that already in my life. Don't care for any more images like those even though I'm pretty well desensitized at this point.
