Slaming in like a big dog this morning on Sanibel island and all along the Gulf.

Climate change or natural occurrence?

Natural, and it's been down there for over a month. Got my respiratory system in an uproar a few weeks ago.

I've been in Tampa/St. Pete when they've had a red tide. It was several years ago. It sucks.

Natural, mostly, and an amazing phenomenon. It's thought that dust clouds from the Sahara play a major role in algal blooms in the Gulf. Those clouds also annually fertilize the Amazon Basin.

:sarcasm on: Oh, it is definitely "climate change" or global warming. This has only started happening this century (I.E. the last 15 years).

Your beef is with fwc scientists, not me. I just pulled it up to see what it was out by cedar key since that is basically due west from my farm. Didn't even realize it said you were low levels lol. Luckily my beach property is in Flagler county and we rarely catch it out that way.
If some red tide was all I had to deal with for another 200 miles further south, I think I could deal with it. I hate all 13 days of winter "up" here.

Are you still down there? I thought you were down there last week for some reason. Sucks about the tide but at least you can still walk the beach tanked on Booz looking for some cool shells.

Looks like the beaches in Naples might be better for being in the water according to that satellite image. Vanderbilt Beach is nice.
