Ha, we were jamming to some RWH driving through the Rockies a week ago. My buddy is from Tyler, and he loves that shite. I like him too, even though the screw you were from texas song is kind of annoying.

I'd never heard Drunken Poets Dream before my buddy played it last week. That is a great fricking song. I saw Hayes Carl open up for Robert Plant here in Birmingham a few years back. He is great too.

Yeah it's a shame he only has one or two songs that mainstream radio ever played.

I went to school with his son Lucas, who plays with him now. Funny thing is that I didn't start listening to him till I went off to college.

Pissin' in the wind.

On the mention of snake farm... I met Billy Joe Shaver at a local tonk. Nice fella. Agreed to take a photo with my 7 year old boy, and never asked what the hell I was doing at a bar with my kid.

I first learned of him when I was a kid, skiing in Red River and watching him in a small club. Too young to drink, but not too young to recognize that guy had a real gift.

I'm going to shamelessly assume you using "bump" was a pun. And a pretty relevant one at that

I was thinking about doing a Billy Joe Shaver thread and just got lazy and bumped this one I've been listening to Ray, Billy Joe and Todd Snider all day.

Todd is playing a small venue in Birmingham coming up soon. I need to convince myself to go. I know I'll regret it if I don't go, but I don't have places to stay up that way anymore
