Amazing offseason thread. I guess .03 miles is the width of University Ave, because the closest one is literally across the street from the campus we actually have two in CS though

Seriously, Houston has some incredibly overrated Mexican food.

Those carnitas were terrible, and the steak they had was cooked well done. So yeah, Freebirds was bad.

And I've tried a ton of spots in Houston, and have been disappointed at almost every spot. The taco truck at West Alabama Ice House was probably the best I've tried, that or Taqueria Del Sol (though I just got off a plane and was staving).

But yeah, y'alls chili con queso sucks compared to a hatch green chili sauce. New Mexico/Colorado just has better food.

Feel free to throw out some suggestions to change my opinion. This isn't a troll, just one guys an honest opinion.

If you think Freebirds is Mexican food ....
I can't even.

It's a burrito joint, obviously. Or maybe a Mexican themed restaurant. I just didn't think it tasted very good. It seems like it's in par with Moe's.

It's exactly what you described--a "burrito joint."
Which isn't Mexican food.

Braggart. We're getting our 2nd Fayetteville Chipotle right next to our first Whole Foods this summer.

The current Chipotle is right across the street from a Q'Doba and one of the local guys, Flying Burrito.

Moe's is in the metro, but north about 20 miles. I've never been. I've been to a Freebirds in College Station but it has been several years and I was dronk.

I don't honestly know why or how we have two there. The one by campus is fricking packed but I used to go to the other one (right by Highway 6 near Home Depot) because nobody was ever there. Maybe that's changed, it opened right before I graduated

Considering the closest Chipotle to LSU is literally one block off campus and yet that's still good for only 43rd of 129 is pretty amazing

Uncle Rico could stand on the edge of the Arkansas campus and throw a football over our Chipotle. The moral of the story is Chipotle loves college campuses.

The best Tex-Mex item is cheese or chicken enchiladas with a Verde sauce. Until you eat that at a legit place you haven't tried Tex-Mex.

The downtown Chipotle in Columbia is across 9th street from Campus. Old school narrow (with parking on only one side) and narrow sidewalks.

They put a couple tables in front of the building but if anyone sits at them it basically puts the sidewalk down to 2 people wide.

Also has a Moe's right next door. Moe's advertising actually says 'Moe's is right between Chipotle and Subway'.

LSUs isn't even 1/8 of a mile from campus. It's literally an actual stones throw away
