Sherlock really disappointed me. After such a long wait I guess I expected more. At least it ended on a high note and gives me hope for series 4 happening before I die.

I can't tell if it was my favorite season or least favorite. Either way it is by a mile.

The wedding episode was spectacular, and the last one tore me a lot. My wife and I argued whether he did that final thing, because he was flat out beat or because of his love for John and Mary.

Or Manimal? Or that shitty sitcom about guys who crossdress to get jobs in a poor economy (not even going to bother looking up the title...)? Or anything with Kardashian in the title?

GoT is the best thing on TV right now (IMO), but Hannibal should be getting some consideration as well. That show is just beyond engrossing (and grossing to be fair). It's also one of the more beautifully shot shows on television.

Maybe it's just me, but I've always sort of found Sopranos to be a bit overrated. It's a great show, no doubt, but I think people were drawn to it because there's this fascination with the mafia, and I think some people found the ever-present threat of violence appealing. People forget in hindsight that there were a ton of empty calories episodes and subplots in that series (i.e. Vito in New Hampshire, quite literally anything with A.J. Soprano).

I like Mad Men, but I honestly find it to be one of the most overrated shows I've ever seen, and I think its hardliner fans have gotten to the point where they'll make an excuse for anything or try to make some imagery/metaphor claim with anything.

#6 was the only one I didn't really enjoy. It was okay. I may have to watch The Wire or Sopranos soon.

1) Breaking Bad - a cohesive, absolute masterpiece, went out on top. Will be tough to equal.
2) Sopranos
3) The Wire
4) Game of Thrones (want to like this more, but they are going over the top with rape over a corpse of a son)
5) Mad Men
6) Sienfeld
7) The Office (both versions). US version went on too long
10) Doctor Who
99) Lost (sucks, and doesn't belong here)

Never watched Arrested Development. Should I?

It wears thin quickly. Though the guy playing Hannibal (from Goldeneye) is legit.

Seriously? That's not even close to the most disturbing they've done on that show

None of these shows is a classic show on par w/ The Wire or The Sopranos (legitimately game-changing). And neither is Breaking Bad. All of the "prestige" television shows out today use the format that The Sopranos invented. None has improved upon it, either, in my opinion.

Breaking Bad was unique in this regard--yes, you rooted for Tony Soprano from beginning to end. It became increasingly difficult to sympathize with Walter White. Everyone had their jumping off point--for me, it was the kid in the desert on the motorcycle. There was a little redemption in the end, but it was masterful in how it challenged you progressively to find reasons to root for him.

There is nothing like that in the Sopranos (which I loved), where Tony was essentially the same guy from beginning to end. Or The Wire, which I respect--it was more documentary than anything.
