Another way of saying, he's unprofessional. It's one thing to occasionally laugh at one's own performance, but he makes a habit of it. Sure he can be funny at times. But overall, he's hard for me to watch. He talks over his guests many times, or interrupts them and makes it about his experiences or himself. That's a horrible quality for a talk show host. Imho, of course.

Have you ever heard I guest complain about this, talking over them point you're trying to make? Please enlighten me if so.

Are you the guy that asks what's so funny when you're out with your buddies?

Of course they don't. They're plugging movies or tv shows. But you can see body language at times from some.

Don't take it personal. I was just giving my own opinion on why I don't think he's a good host. Different tastes make the world go round.

Having said that. Watch some full shows of Carson. And you'll see what a talk show host should aspire to be. It's all about the interview and bringing out from the guests, things you wouldn't normally see in the mundane interviews. If Fallon's best attribute as a late night talk show host, is getting guests to do skits, then he's failed as a talk show host, or the description of his show should fall under variety show, instead of talk show.

He's really more of a sketch comedy host than a talk show host.

Don't let Jimmy rustle your Jimmys.

Trust me, you may never understand how brilliant Fallon really is. And that's ok, it's your loss. Dude is a great guy with amazing writers and is easily one of the most talented host ever.

When Alahunter hosts his first show, ill be sure to tune in.

At the end of the day, its about entertainment. Not if you found out about how some actor feels about Obama drinking a beer one time. I'll take a sketch comedy show over a talk show everytime.

I would most of the time as well, but don't pass off one as the other.

Too late. And its working to perfection. Haters, welcome to a new age of "talk" shows.

I think Tom Papa would make a great host for one of these shows.

His show "Come to Papa" is excellent. I love listening to that on SiriusXM.

The comedy Bang! Bang! Show is good stuff to. But if you don't like Fallon, you prolly should stay clear of this gem as well.

Does that really matter? To me it doesn't. That's how actual conversations are when you're sitting around telling stories. Someone tells a story which reminds you of a story you have so you tell it. I'd rather have that than the actor just talking about himself the whole time.

Finally some Fallon fans show up in this thread. I was beginning to think I was alone on this board.

You're not alone my friend.

I've loved Fallon since his early days on SNL and ill continue to do so. So happy about all the success his show is having.

I hope he does another Neil Young act soon.

And btw, hush with the "a lot of people like him so you must not know humor." A lot of people like Miley Cyrus too. It doesn't mean she's very good.

Didn't know I hurt your feelings so much with that statement. I didn't say it because a lot of people like Fallon. I said it because Fallon is hilarious and better than anything that's been out there since Carson. It wasn't really a serious statement anyways. Obviously different people have different tastes.

Fallon is the best by far right now IMO. He was my favorite on SNL when he was on and fever pitch was funny as shite too.

This thread is kinda funny - I love how people try and make others think like them. Being a bit more "mature" than most here, no one, I mean no one, can touch Carson. Best there ever was. You could lie in bed and watch the stars of the day being stars - because he treated them that way. The show was not about him, it was about show business. The guests came on prepared to entertain too.

So . . . my late night list from who I remember:

1. Carson
2. Letterman - though he has gone down quite a bit over the last few years, he was freaking awesome at one time, especially when following Johnny (was the best tag-team pair ever on late night TV).
3. Conan
4. Leno - was great before his whole "coming back" thing
5. Fallon - "talking bout chest hair, talking bout crazy gold medallions" He is growing on me.
5. Ferguson - tied with Fallon (seems to be a pretty good dude and is quick witted)
7. Kimmel - he just gets on my nerves for some odd reason
8. Chevy Chase - yes, he had a short-lived show. I shudder to think about it.
9. Pat Sajak - of Wheel of Fortune fame - short-lived as well.
10. Arsenio Hall - truly awful but had a following
