Living in a place in part is based on the things necessary to support that life. Life on a distant moon may not be impossible if a source of energy nearby can be harnessed to power it.

While settlement on a surface may not be given, settlement below it may not be impossible.

In any form of space exploration and settlement what you should be focusing on is the multiplier effect of not having all your seeds on 1 planet in case said planet experiences an E L E.

Humanity is beginning to face this now. Will intelligence go extinct on earth or will humans manage to spread to other planets in some form?

I say "some form" because it's becoming extremely obvious that biology-based intelligence (humans) cannot adapt quickly enough to colonize environments that aren't near duplicates of earth. IMO, the only way we can take our intelligence into the Universe is in the form of machines.

I just noticed your sig
Rick Pitino on using whores to recruit: "I don't think any recruits came because of these women."

So they were just going halfway? Sounds more like eastern tantric sex than just straight hooking!

I would like to think biology would trump mechanical especially if a power source was lost. A third alternative would be humans transform to a more adaptable energy based life form.

Yeah, like Pitino went half way with that skank in the restaurant.

There are no good theories, and certainly no evidence, that energy-based life can exist. I think we're evolving in the most logical direction for leaving earth, artificial life.

He went more than halfway, he just did it quickly.

Used to eat there all the time, now not so much.

Except it's -400000000 degrees there

Come on. Can't be more than (or is it less than? Yes, it's less than) -272.9 degrees there.
