I'm fascinated by your generation's fascination with inferior technology.
There's been no improvement in cartridge razors since the Gillette Sensor. They sold a lie that 3 blades were better, then 4, then 5. That wasn't enough, so they added on a vibrating handle and pivoted head.
Give me a break.
I keep my Sensor for when I'm in a hurry, or when I travel, but otherwise, I'll use my Edwin Jagger. It don't yank the hairs off my face like a Mach 3 and it provides a much better and closer shave than an electric razor.
As an aside, anyone ever used the Merkur Futur? It gives you the option of altering the angle of the blade.

A safety razor is still inferior tech. I use a double blade whatever kind, can't recall. Its virtually impossible to cut yourself or even get razorburn with one of those.
Some of us have been shaving a little bit longer than others.

Maybe. It's also a hell of a lot cheaper and provides a better shave.

Oh you can easily razorburn with any cartridge.
I'm not extolling the virtues of one over the other, as I use both, but I'm saving myself money by only have to buy cartridges once a year.
Sure, it takes a little longer, but I have the fortune of a light blonde beard, and I always shave at night.

I use this sandalwood stuff. Bitches love sandalwood.

I've been on the safety razor thing for about two years now.
Van Der Haagen makes inexpensive stuff that lasts quite some time. I've bought some soap from a craft festival a while ago, but I haven't had a chance to use it yet. I've also been using Shaving Secret oil for a bit, and that really helps with any potential razorburn. Plus it smells nice and lasts a while.

I use The Art of Shaving shaving soap that has a lemon scent (can't recall the actual name of the scent). I do like a Kiel's item it I don't use my brush. Think it is called Close Shaver somethingoranother. It has lidocaine in it and is the next best thing if you don't have a badger hair brush.

Wade I have been using the Futur for a little over a year and really like it. I admit though, I don't adjust on the blade anymore, just leave it opened all the way up and pray for no cuts with Feather blades.
Rebel I like the C.O.Bigelow/Poraso cream from bath and Body works. I am bad to get razor burn with a Mach 3, but rarely if ever using that and the Futur.

St. James of London is the best brand of shaving cream I've tried. A jar lasts 3 months or so. Their Sandalwood is pretty good but my favorite is Black Pepper & Lime.
Or a good cheaper option of shaving cream is Proraso.
