Just used up the last little bit of my Taylor of Old Bond Street. Looking to try something different. Might consider trying cream instead of soap too.

Real men use straight razors

Those still require soap....

I been shaving in the shower with regular old soap and a Gillette safety razor for 25 years. Never a problem. Saves me a good 5 minutes easily every morning not having to fool around with shave cream etc.

Who the hell spends 5 minutes with shave cream?

I use Omega. Be a bro, get a Dovo.

Exactly. Soak the brush while you're in the shower. Get out, whip soap, and shave...

My point is that its faster for me to shave in the shower while washing than to stand at the sink and do it as a separate thing.

Got a very nice safety razor as a birthday gift a few weeks ago. Never going back to Gillette. Very happy with and 100 blades for $10 can't be beat.

I'll let you know what I use when I get home.
Anyone else get burned by old spice aftershave?

LINK
Link to a gal on Etsy who makes her own. Very reasonable, lots of flavors, and you're supporting an independent artisan. Win win win.

I refuse to shave my face until someone introduces a razor with 22 blades. At that point, frick it, I'm all in.

I'm fascinated by your generation's fascination with inferior technology.

Gillette 294338954 blade hypermegafusion=insta razor burn.
1950s Gillette safety razor=no razor burn and a smoother shave.

I have an Old Spice cup I've been using for 40+ years.
I've been through a few brushes. The latest, I've had about five or six years .... longer maybe. I bought it at Lord & Taylors in Atlanta. It's badger hair with a rosewood and chrome grip.
My wife brings me home Crabtree & Evelyn Shave Soap once or twice a year or either throws it in my Christmas stocking.
My face is smooth as a baby's butt.
Here's the guy I bought my straight razor from a few years ago ... the other one I had I bought in Italy back in the early 80s but it finally got so thin that the bevel was thick and I had to retire it to my throat slitting cigar box blades. It was close to 40 years old.
Anyways, this guy makes great straight razors ...
