Why do I get the impression that this thread is veering towards who has OT Baller status via amount of taxes paid?

This isn't the OT Lounge yet, but it's getting there.

I don't get anything back.

I'm no baller. I'm a good American. I'm a saver and a frugal MFer. I don't think I've ever bragged about $$ on here, ever.

I eat homemade stir fry 3-4 nights a week ($2 a person, max).

I waited to replace the rug runner on my stairs for two years after it really needed it until I found the runner I wanted on sale for less than $100.

I admire the old bag lady who eats cat food and leaves a couple million to her local charity.

I bought a nice leather sofa from RH after wanting it for 4 years. I waited until it went on sale, and I still feel a twinge of guilt for spending $3500 on a sofa now and then.

How baller is that? I'm too German to be anything but the way I am.

They will be cool with me writing off a car purchase, internet, insurance, cell phone, all manner of "business meals" and anything else I can think of won't they?

Car Purchase? I don't think so. But you can write off mileage, which saves my arse every year. Got to write off almost $20K in mileage this year.

I have to own a car in order to do my work. I should be able to write off some of it. Or maybe some sort of depreciation figure every year.

LINK

You can choose car expenses or standard mileage rate, whichever is greater. For me, the better deal is always mileage.

Nah we're going to Florida. Disneyland/SeaWorld.

If we go to the Rodeo it's g2b the one in H-Town or the Alamo City.

This is the third year in a row I get a refund from Alabama. Normally I have to send them a check for $30 or so.

Federal I have a modest return. Wish my hr would not cut out as much as they do.

You'd be able to count the number of times if not for that racist arse math

You know you can change it? Just ask them for a W-4 to change your withholdings.

All I am able to change is Dependants, and because my pay is structured in a weird way I can't forecast taxes right.

Like I get a set salary for 4 days whether I work them or not. If I work more then I get per diem pay for everything over and it messes up my taxes.

I can't tell when I will/won't work because I am in an industry that is dependent on the weather.

Ft Worth, Salinas CA and Pecos are worth going to as well. There are other really good ones in Calgary, Pendleton, Cheyenne, and of course Vegas.
