Lack of substance, as usual.

Random comment, but I consider myself independent in terms of politics. And while I did agree with some of obamas ideals (such as Medicare), he has been a pretty awful president. I only wanted him in because of the lack of a better option in the republican candidates in his election years.

The bush/Obama pissing matches are so stupid. Both were/are bad Presidents, and truthfully we're scraping the bottom of the barrel to decide which one was/is worse. It's like arguing which is worse - brain cancer or stomach cancer. Both are cancer and will kill you, so why argue which is worse.

Didn't watch the speech. Didn't really care what he had to say.

Exactly. I just wonder where the idea that George Bush was some champion of all things conservative came from. It seems to be the go-to response when someone is trying to defend Obama.

CAUES HES A REPUBLICNA!

He's a republican from texas, so of course he is conservative, right? Right?

Bush was relatively moderate/liberal on domestic spending (enacted no-child-left-behind, created DHS, expanded government surveillance and power) but was a very strong hawk internationally. Whether you liked his foreign policy style (outside of Iraq) really comes down to whether you prefer America to be Loved or Feared. As of right now, we're neither, at least with Bush we were feared by our enemies and loved by at least some of our allies.

Same with Obama being a champion of all things liberal. Obama isn't a liberal, and Bush really wasn't a conservative. They're both plutocrats, and at the end of the day there's not much of a difference between the two of them.

Most Presidential candidates are these days.

If only he'd listened to those that said the exact same thing BEFORE we invaded.

You have a point.

However, lets just continue to frick up, because it's Bush's fault we're there in the first place.

We probably will. There's no viable solution.

Not entirely, but he exasperated the situation. Plenty of blame to go around and it goes back 50+ years.

Spin: It's Bush's fault that Obama didn't do what Bush said he should do. If Bush wasn't such an idiot, he would've listened.

We're so fricking done ... most people just do not realize how far done we truly are.

I go back to Truman ... and I swear I never imagined, no one could, that there would ever be a worse president than Jimmy Carter.

But if you told most people that there would be, and that he would actually be re-elected ... well, then that right there would be enough to tell people the country is screwed, royally. It's over. We're done.

we weren't feared enough under both Bushes. They both went soft on the fricking house of saudi.
