That one scared me too. Another children's movie that scared the shite out of me was Labyrinth.

Honest to god when Independence Day came out I was like 4 and I was terrified bc I thought I was like watching the news or something. Freaked me out for weeks.

I wasn't allowed to watch horror movies when I was young, so I was in about the seventh grade when I saw my first one. That wasn't the most traumatizing, though. The movie that horrified me, and still does, is The Exorcist. Honestly, I can't even think about the details of it without freaking out. I seriously wish I had never watched it.

Can't believe The Exorcist wasn't mentioned until page 5.

To this day, if I get too cold at night when sleeping I will have a nightmare about that FRICKING kid and it will wake my old arse up.

I never watched the exorcist or any of those type movies, never really cared for horror or sci-fi. however, the three stooges tv show upset me for some reason?

With all of the Stephen King references in this thread, has anyone read Doctor Sleep? It's a sequel to The Shining published fairly recently. I bought it a few weeks ago, haven't been in the mood to read it yet.

I hadn't either until I ran across it on Amazon. The Shining has always been my favorite SK book, so I'm really looking forward to this one, I just want to be in the right mindset.

I know! It was pretty old by the time I saw it. I was about 16 or 17, but even at that age, I had to sleep with a lamp on for two weeks, and stayed "spooked" for at least two months. I was so pissed at my boyfriend & friends for renting it and making me watch it.

The Exorcist
Child's Play
Alien
Anaconda (I was like 12, and realized very early in the movie that snakes terrify me)

The Brain that wouldn't die

I watched this when I was a little boy in the 70's and it scared the daylights out of me. It freaked me out that this head was talking without a body.

There is a part where a Dr's assistant gets his arm pulled off by something behind a door and that was too much for a little boy. 1:07:43 Mark

Haven't watched it to see how ridiculous I was for being frightened.

eta: I watched the arm pulling off part. Damn just think of a 7-9 yr old watching this.

Not really as a child but the beginning of the first Final Destination when the dude gets choked in the shower. It's shows his eyeballs rupturing or whatever. Turned it off. Won't watch it anymore.

As a child, Ernest Scared Stupid with that troll monster. Real talk.
