How much stock do you put into these kinds of tests when they try to use your type to determine career paths?

We used them, for awhile, in my company when hiring Manager positions or above ... but we found them unreliable because when people want a job they tend to embellish, or answer the way they think you want them to answer, on tests such as these.

This is the case quite a bit when taking one for a job. Most people will know how to answer and what employers are looking for.

I do think the MB is pretty accurate though, took another recently that was newer and had more personality types than the MB, forget the name of it.

My daughter and I are going to ATL this week to get the Johnson O'Connor testing done. They test aptitude instead of personality type or interest inventory. The thought is that if you are in a job that you are naturally good at, you will be happier with it. Also, your aptitudes never change. They are the same at 18 as they are at 40, whereas the personality types and interest inventories can change over time.

I'll let you know what I think about it this weekend.

Sure we're the master race, but we as a group will accomplish nothing. Let's get motivated!

Let's do that tomorrow.

Man, that weakness of 'big ideas every day with little action' hits waaaaay too close to home. Vision means nothing if I can't put the cogs to work. I probably need a hardass woman.

I married a J with legitimate ADD, so she gets my struggle with staying on task but also, you know, keeps me on task.

It's balance. I need some order to function, she needs somebody easy going to keep the anxiety levels manageable.

I have the unfortunate ability to argue my actions so effectively that they give up on trying to sway me. I can't just 'give in' in a debate.

That could help things. I'm going to UA Law in the Fall, maybe I'll find someone with the rhetorical abilities of a litigator and the want to have a MRS degree.

It just means you have to bring your A game. It's boring otherwise.

Good luck with law school. Theres apparently a lot of dry law textbooks you get to digest.
