There's about 6 or so of us that go over to his place once or twice a week.

That's probably enough to make it worth it. I get together with three old friends once a week for guy's night but we alternate houses.

It's gonna go outside by his pool on his covered porch.

That will be pimp.

We'll probably just use two of the taps most of the time or get 4 pony kegs of different stuff.

That's what I would recommend. It get's old drinking the same thing all the time. I would get a 1/2 of something plain like bud light and then get a couple 1/4 or 1/6 of neat shite. If you are in Nashville, Frugal MacDoogal has a decent selection (but you have to order ahead for most of the exotic stuff):

But I would really recommend Blackstone's Brewery. They have really good craft beer and will do kegs of multiple sizes with no deposit at really good prices.

I'm sure we'll stick a cooler in there to hold ice too.

I end up with misc. beers/alcohol stored in mine most of the time.

Can you put liquor in a pony keg and serve it? I know we have done a mixed drink when we were in college. But that was with a pump, not CO2.

Never heard of this, but would be cool.

My one piece of kegerator advice comes from a lot of learning with my own.

Make sure there's some sort of air circulation system set up in the fridge if it doesn't already have one. Once that gets going figure out a way to get cold air up into the beer towers to avoid the first five seconds of beer being used to cool down the beer line going up through the tower and wasting a ton of beer through foam. I used electrical outlet boxes with computer cooling fans and flexible plastic hose to blow the cold air up into the tower.

It makes life much better, especially if he's going with small kegs of expensive stuff.

Still need to get tap handles, clean the shite out of it, and fix the door.

Looks nice, is it forced air or cooled with plates?

Forced air I think. We haven't messed with it much. Had to wait til 8 to get it off the truck. And it stinks pretty bad so we gotta clean the hell out of it tomorrow.

Well once you get it douched out, let me know. I've got a lot of experience with this shite I'd like to share with you guys so you'll waste as little beer as possible.

It's forced air. Basically just a big refrigerator. The guy he bought it from said itll get cold as shite if we can just get that door fixed. And I don't think that's gonna be too hard, we may just screw it shut.

We already have them there now. We just won't have to buy beer as often this way.

Forced air is good. The only issue you'll have is cooling the beer towers. I mentioned in an earlier post how to do that. It seems stupid/overkill, but if y'all wind up with a foam problem, that's usually the fix.

It may make sense to throw a few fans near the forced air duct to spread the cold as shite air to the farther sides, but you can play that by ear.

Beyond that just wait a day or so after bringing to keg home to let the foam from the moving settle and you're good to go.

So did you just mount computer fans underneath the towers? Or did you pipe it up there some way? The fan in it is right in the middle and blows down at at angle from the back. It's just like one that was at a bar I worked at. We never had problems with cooling. But I could see how the beer in the lines in the tower could get hot when it's not being used everyday.

ETA: I do IT work so I can get some fans and a power supply from any number of old computers I have.

Yeah, if you're pulling a beer every couple minutes it's never really a problem so most bars get away with it if they don't have glycol cooling towers.

I got an electrical box, installed a cooling fan to suck air into the box, then put a hole in the box and attached a flexible hose that I attached to the box and routed to the top of the tower. The fan sucked the air into the box and pushed it into the hose to cool the line and life was good.

Very little foam.

ETA: I spent the extra couple bucks and got the fans with the LEDs, so in the off chance so prick opened the door, it looked nice before I killed them.

Oh ok, that seems pretty simple. We will probably try it out and see how it goes at first (he's a "have to see an issue before fixing the issue" type of guy) but ill keep that in my pocket.

For sure. If its a good commercial unit you may not have any problems at all. All my experiences are with home kegerator a, which are basically shitty fridges with holes drilled in them for the beer tower.
