For me, over proselytising Christians are more annoying. I'll listen to atheists all day erryday over them.

Eh, I don't know about that. A lot of fundies fantasize about non-fundies (including other Christians) burning in Hell.

Exhibit A:

Not sure I'd consider someone like this a "good" person simply because they say they are trying to save people from Hell.

Militant Atheist for me. I use the same line of reasoning, since I'm not a believer I find it highly annoying when others act like arse clowns. I'm annoyed by the holier than thou baptist but they don't make me look bad since I'm not one of them.

Besides it's straight from Mein Kampf. Which means you can't say it. ESPECIALLY if it's true.

I would bet a decent amount of money that Scrooster has read Mein Kampf and agrees with some of the more controversial stances.

Over-proselytizing Christians BUT only because there are more of them and the ones who go overboard in public tend to be weird. However, both are equally annoying even though they aren't encountered in equal numbers.

FWIW, I have no issue with people expressing themselves and their beliefs just leave it to the private area and no when someone doesn't want to hear it.

Militant atheists. For not believing in anything, they sure love to tell you about their lack of beliefs and why your beliefs are wrong. Bill Maher ruined a lot of poor rednecks' lives when he went on his bender.

I am sure you run into them alll the time, wherever you live. I know they are always knocking on my door and standing on street corners handing out pamphlets.

and why your beliefs are wrong

If you dont want to hear a debate about it then dont click on religious debate threads on the Internets.

I lend your post credence and didn't mean it as said. Forgive me for a quick mobile post. I misspoke.

They are not better people but I would say generally they have better intentions. Not the case for all obviously, but as a general rule Christians are aiming to save a soul, atheists are usually trying to win an intellectual debate.

I was responding to the question in the OP? He asked me which one we find more annoying. I answered and gave reasons. I'm not understanding the condescending response.

I think Christians want to win the intellectual debate just as much, so I don't really think that's the general rule most of the time. You're right that some might have genuine intentions, but I know plenty that have the same shallow/petty reasons as the other side of the aisle.

Well your reasons were a lie unless you are constantly running into atheists in real life who "love to tell you about their lack of beliefs". Im betting that rarely if ever has happened to you. So its just a bunch of b.s. If its something you saw on tv or were reading in debate thread then thats on you for choosing to enter debate.

a TRUE Christian will not judge or condemn a sinner/nonbeliever but will love them and pray for them. But nonbelievers should also realize that Christians are human too, and are weak and tend to give in to the flesh.

You'd lose with regard to me having read it ... it is simply something that I have never considered reading, considering its source.

With regard to agreeing with any portion of it, I wouldn't know. I tend to have mine own opinions of things at this stage in my life and I feel that I've given the alternatives a chance to prove me wrong by now.

I do not believe in the same things now that I did as a young man in the 60s, I can tell you that.

Jesus was a theocratic fascist totalitarian.

There is one way, Him. If you don't obey his commands, you go to hell. You give 10% of your income, a flat income tax, to the church, for distribution. If you want to reference the Old Testament, when the Israelites asked for a government, god sent them a king. Not a general secretary, not a workers soviet, a king. There was no democracy, just monarchy.

Also, militant atheists are more annoying. And I've known quite a few of both.

One tattoo. Nothing nazi. Almost everything you write makes me think you're a woman and so I'd be inclined to maybe show you my tattoo. Then I remember that you're like some eastern european now american cop or something like that. And male. So the whole damned thing is scary. Super duper creepy.

Bull who thinks like a lesbian.

I haven't read Mein Kampf actually. Hardly anyone has. Not from cover to cover. There wouldn't be anything inherently wrong in reading it, however, of course. I mean proposing to burn the damned thing would be reminiscent of its author. Amirite? Imitation as a form of flattery I guess?

I'll say one thing for that book: it got us to the moon. It didn't have the influence its author intended, but it damned sure influenced. There is no question that that one book caused more lasting global change than any other one book since the Koran. No question. (What does this mean? Absolutely nothing beyond this: For that handful among us who aspire to write a book to change the world you'd be stupid not to read it. It damned sure did what you'd want your book to do. And only a scant handful of books ever have done so).

YES. Hit it right on the head. I wish everyone would keep their beliefs to themselves. I could give a shite about your facebook posts of bible verses, slutty girl from HS. Don't talk about evolution when you have no fricking idea what you're talking about, neck beard atheist. Both are aggravating as hell.
