Millions are statistics.

One is a story. People connect to stories.

Yeah, this dude needs to fry. That's not defending your home. That's straight up murder.

Sometimes people die, it is just the way the world works. It isn't that big of a deal.

I hope you're trolling.

I'm not. Ya it sucks when it is someone you konw, but it isn't that big of a deal in general. They will be replaced with supreme efficiency.

Something in me refuses to let that part of my soul die. I think people matter. Even the ones that don't.

People do matter. It sucks that they died, but it isn't that big of a deal. They had to die at some point.

I guess I am saying it matters on a microscopic level to the people around them. But in general it isn't that big of a deal. Even to the person who died it is likely just a drop in the bucket.

The finsihing kill is over the line. The one that happened after he had dragged them to another location.

It is definitely over the line of our laws.

But I can empathize with him and understand where he was coming from. I wish he wouldn't go to jail.

I don't think these teens really mattered. They clearly weren't going to amount to much overall. they were either going to be career criminals or non skilled workers.

Risk I'm willing to take. If I die, I die and they fry. But there are multiple paths available to any objective. I'm not saying I would never use a gun in self defense. But not in every circumstance. This certainly does not appear to be a circumstance where it was required.

Drawing/quartering was a punishment reserved for high treason and religious heretics were burned at the stake.

You are not a smart man.

He should definitely go to prison for a while, but he shouldnt get the death penalty.

Meh, that wasn't necessary. Ignorance of the various methods of execution hardly proves someone is "not a smart man." Execution by burning actually goes back to antiquity, and females found guilty of treason were not HD&Q... They were burned at the stake.

FTR, I disagree with WNC about this case. The homeowner executed those people and should do time.

Fry? Do we even still use ole' sparky? Death seems a bit harsh, but definitely needs time in the looney bin and probation.
