You know, I read and hear people saying the cops aren't trained properly. I don't think that's the root problem. It has to with the screening process in selecting police officers. If you're hiring someone with bad character to begin with, you can't train your way out of these kinds of problems.

I seriously doubt this beating in CA and what amounts to a summary execution in SC in any way resembles how they were trained.

It's individuals with bad character. "By their fruits ye shall know them."

Just to be clear, the problem in the selection process is deliberate, not accidental.

I didn't see anything in that video that justified the beating he took. Catch him, cuff him, and take him away.

Maybe people will stop breaking the law and if they do break the law maybe they will stop running from and/or attacking the police.

Sorry it's a shitty job, and I even agree that they probably deserve better pay, but when these incidents happen I can't stand when the first thing people say is "He was running..."

We should take a lot of the government money that goes to welfare and give it to cops' salaries. Then we could hire more mentally stable officers and avoid most of these gym-rats-on-steroids types.

Some badges need to be stripped and some need to be charged with assault.

This does suck, but maybe some good can come out of all of these cases. Maybe people will stop breaking the law and if they do break the law maybe they will stop running from and/or attacking the police.

Or maybe the cops get convicted, go to prison and get re-educated by their peers and other cops Learn that they are not above the law.
