These cops will just say they felt threatened. Perp could have bled all over their shoes and uniform, you know. That makes him a bio hazard. The beating must continue until perp is no longer a threat, that is, not moving.

Its time for mandatory body cameras that can't be turned off for all police officers. Why would officers not want this? It protects them against false accusations and would help weed out the bad cops.

Cops scare the shite out of me anymore. I've never been arrested and haven't been pulled over in 7 years but they still make me nervous.

Nope. All give you all patrolmen and traffic guys, but not every officer.

All cops should have to take mandatory drug tests (hair, urine and blood) for all illegal drugs, alcohol and steroids.

Fail one, no more gun.

The fact that 95% of them abuse steroids should bother more people. I suspect this has something to do with the fact that their violence is completely out-of-control.

Amazing how that works....

Full disclosure, I get nervous if a marked car is behind me too.

I don't get nervous when a marked car is behind me. And I have a lead foot from hell. 80 in a 55? No problem.

There was a case a few years ago where (I believe) Ferguson police officers beat a guy and then charged him for some BS charge which was really because they got his blood on their uniform.

Treating everyone cordially is definitely good advice and I agree that your chances of being killed/kicked in the nuts/etc. by the cops goes down when you're polite.

But running from the cops, while dumb as hell, should in no way result in a prolonged beating or bullets in your back. The police signed up for a government job and it's not too much to ask government employees to avoid senslesely beating people. Even when the cops get very very mad.

Sorry it's a shitty job, and I even agree that they probably deserve better pay, but when these incidents happen I can't stand when the first thing people say is "He was running..."

Then arrest him! It's the job. The rules don't stop applying when you're angry.
