If you want to have a discussion that goes beyond "the universe is huge so there must be life" you have to make parameters. And evolution doesn't occur until life is already present. But i see your point.

that being said, they obviously aren't more advanced than us because they haven't gotten to us either.

That's like an ant on an abandoned island assuming that there are no humans because we haven't visited them. Why would aliens go out of their way to see us, especially considering the number of years it may take to reach us? We like to think of ourselves as being more interesting and intelligent than we actually are. They would likely be so much more intelligent than we are that I doubt they have any real desire to communicate with us, especially considering the state of 90% of our population and our entire history.

yep. and God sent Jesus to everyone of them.

After he visited the lost tribe in North America, of course. If you'd like to post your address I'd be happy to send you a book about it or come by to talk about it.

Basic Life: More than likely. Impossible for it to not exist IMO.

Equal Intelligence: We'll never meet them if they are out there.

Highly Advanced: They'll come to us and at that point it will be too late to stop them.

I'd say just based on the numbers there has to be life somewhere else. It's going to be rare of course to get all the characteristics on a planet to support life like earth does.

not only realistic, but virtually an ole miss lock that there is other life out there.

Did he send a different Jesus, one in their image, to every planet with intelligent life? It would suck to have to be crucified over and over, once for each planet/species.

I think small, single cells organism have lived on planets, and comets. I do not think a planet exists with intelligent life beyond that though. The odds are too great IMO.

Idk how you can think that. If it is possible for one planet to have intelligent life then how, in a universe with infinite possibilities, can you say the odds are too great?

Almost certainly.

I think it's possible, but that's just do to the vastness of the numbers we are talking about in space. It's obviously a hard formula to get right. A stable environment isn't easy to find. Not to mention getting an atmosphere with the right chemistry. Not having your planet fried by a gamma ray relese.

I'm of the mindset there probably is intelligent life out there, but it's so rare that we'll never make any sort of contact, much less encounter it.

infinite

You keep saying this word, but I don't think it means what you think it means.

Yes, there are an unimaginable number of stars in the universe but they aren't infinite. This isn't a limit you know.

I didn't say it was impossible, I said IMO I didn't think it had happened.

odds of the earth avoiding destruction and having the right building blocks for life, being in the right zone, etc. are absurd and = 1/massive number which approaches zero.

infinite planets * 0 has no solution. Just my gut feeling. and as I said intelligent life. not just life.
