I dropped about 25-30 to get down to 200 when I turned 40. Just cutting back on burgers, fries and desserts really. Barely 6'
I've been hitting the treadmill a lot lately, I know if I can get to 175-180 I'll add years to my life

I lost around 30 pounds when I moved to Colorado just because I ate out less and walked everywhere. I hadn't planned on it, but was pleased. I knew when I moved to the Southeast for work last year that I wasn't going to be walking as much, so I decided to take up running around the neighborhood and counting calories. I lost about 40 pounds since then. I still do something like get McDonald's or ice cream now and then, just not as much and not as often. I'm about five pounds from my target weight now.

I believe this is the key for most people. Control how many of the bad days you have and keep an eye on your weight. If you get to a certain point, you have to reel yourself back in.
Keeping active is big but diet is the big key for most of us. When I gain weight, it is more because of shitty diet choices than not working out.

I hate to be that guy, but I have the exact opposite problem. I was always SUPER skinny. I'm 5'10 and until I turned 21 I was 120 pounds soaking wet... I'll be 26 this summer and I now weigh about 185-190... It has taken me a long time but, I am now in pretty good shape with some muscule. I still have to fight pretty hard to keep weight on, and the only reason I do is alcohol lol...
But for real, whoever talked about meal prep is so right. I normally do a load of chicken and rice, and then make that for lunch every day at work. I work out in the morning, and do 2 protein shakes for breakfast. Supper varies but pretty much always involves chicken, fish or turkey, and and salad... Sometimes it's tough to eat right, but man it's worth it, plus it gives more wiggle room on the weekend...
For the actual workout, I have a home gym and a very basic 3 day split. 1st day is Chest and Triceps, 2nd is Back and Biceps, 3rd is legs and Abs, and then repeat... A few times a week I will also throw in a HIIT treadmill/ punching bag cardio session, but not as often as I should.
It's very addictive and I Love the results. The most important thing I have learned is being healthy isint being on a diet or just working out, because you will always have a bad day. Being healthy is a whole lifestyle, and realizing that you will have bad days, but as long as you have more good than bad you are always heading in the right direction.

Dude .... stop that right now.
Eat an apple or something, but don't dip. You have to stop that right now. You already know why.

Agree. Not eating is one the worst things for you. Not only will it spike your appetite, you need the calories to live and to keep your metabolism going.

It's next to impossible to run keto indefinitely. I've run it for 3 weeks at a time, then switched to carb frontoad, carb backload, and progressive carb cycling. Then there's just regular old Paleo. From a nutritional perspective, there is no reason to EVER consume sugar or wheat. Don't get me wrong, I cheat and have them on occassion just because I like them, but my body would function just fine (and probably longer) if I never touched them again.

ImI'm 5'11 186. I'm 28 and have always benefited from a high metabolism. I've always been athletic and proactive. I think most my weight is in my shoulders s they are like shoulder pads.
Anyways for a long time I had somewhat of a muffin top. I did regular ab workouts(separated into sections), hot yoga, ran somewhat(I was always a sprinter, never an eudirance runner) ect.
Never saw it start to disappear It wasn't until I finally pushed my self to do distance running did I see it start to disappear. I had run for cardio workouts, but I made it my goal to eat right, and train for a half marathon, and then a full marathon. I started out with preparing for 5 and 10 k's. This time of year is excellent for that. There are so many races around July 4th.
Also another tip to kickstart metabolism for the day. Throw in a fresh jalapeño or 2. Capsaicin kick starts your metabolism for the day. I usually throw one in the juicer with my juice or blend it into my protein shakes. I'm a pepper head, but if you can't handle the heart due to indigestion or heartburn, garlic can have a similar effect.

Definte significant? I've lost nearly 30 lbs since march 9th. Started at 250 and I'm sitting at 222 right now.
Exercise 5-6 days a week. Eat a strict calorie diet of about 1750-1900 per day. At least a gallon of water a day.
