The first bridge on Browns Bridge is about to flood or it was close earlier today. I've never seen it this bad

That is a bogus claim that Tennessee does not recognize.
You want the Tennessee River water to keep Atlanta wet. Your fault for building a city with no water resources to support it.
Perhaps Georgia should look at that huge body of water to the East of them, and build some desalination plants.

I hace seen lots of pictures of the coosa river and it is very high on all lakes. As is the Tennessee up in north Alabama.

What time of year are they shallow? Like less than 5 feet or so? Are they pretty easy to catch then? Topwater action?
I'd like to catch spots with a fly rod but would need shallow water fishing just stripping streamers and such.

For the most part, they are never shallow here. When they spawn, there are some and when the water warms in February, there are some shallows ones.
I have had guys use a fly rod before, your best bet is in june when they are on the brush piles,. I can position you around them in 25 feet of water and you can use a popper to draw them up. I have also had a guy use a big streamer to draw them up
Their position is very predictable in June
