We had 10 each, and it was tough to whittle it down to that.
At least for us, the wedding party grew quickly when you included our siblings and then each of our 1 or 2 closest friends from each station in our lives to that point (high school, college, and grad school).

None of them really look like my type. Either too fake looking, or too homely looking. Third from the left on the back next to the tall transvestite looks the best, but still too fake. One of the far right looks like the nicest and most genuine. Meh to the rest.

My parents had one of those huge 1980s wedding parties and they haven't spoken to a single person (including some of their siblings) in over 20 years
This is one of the reasons my wedding party consisted of my dad (best man), my best friend, and my cousin. My wife's was also only 3 girls and we still invited all of our friends who were plenty happy to get free food and booze without any obligations or responsibilities. Big wedding parties are for show and you end up regretting/hating/forgetting half the people in them.
