Bush could have been impeached for invading Iraq IMO. I don't believe those weapons were there. He may have been given false intell, but you're the president.

Interesting.

I manage 32 apartment buildings in Birmingham. All are low-income and we accept the HUD voucher. As I said, 75% of my tenants that are on HUD, SSI, etc. are milking the system.

First, I have no problem with the elderly or the truly disabled getting assistance.

What I have a HUGE problem with is my tenants that are my age or younger, are on HUD, receive SSI, food-stamps, and assistance with their utilities when they're perfectly capable of working. Not only are the receiving assistance from the taxpayers of this country, but 50% of them also have jobs that pay them under the table.

I have maybe 10 tenants that are receiving benefits, and truly need them. The rest could easily work and support themselves, they just chose not to.

The Constitution died when Lincoln was elected. It has been Terry Shaivo'd by our government ever since.

I voted for him 2x and am upset with the majority of his 2nd term but I had no problem with going into Iraq. Their manhandling of the UN weapons inspectors left a pretty good impression that there was something bad going on there. Turned out not and Sadam needed to be ousted anyways, but if he's impeachable for that so is the majority of Congress that voted to go there as well.

And it may be another 20+ years before this occurs. Heck, I'm Libertarian and know we will probably never have a candidate run for prez

I'm no military man, but I think Delta Force and the CIA could have managed to take out Sadaam.

And they never found any weapons, so I have to believe they were not there. We have the greatest intelligence agency on the planet. If they were there, or if they were moved, I think we would have found them.

But that's obviously 100% opinion and nobody will ever know the truth.

It's beyond infuriating. I can't even tell you half of the shite I hear and see without getting so mad that I could spit nails.

The icing on the cake? Those same people get an income tax refund for "money that could've been earned." Even though they added NOTHING into the pot.

When they get this huge chunk of money, do they come pay off their balance with the rent office? Hell no. They go buy stupid shite they don't need, and then get infuriated when I ask them about paying on their balance or turn them over for eviction. If I had a $1 for every threat of violence I gotten, I could quit working.

Love how budget discussions always land on the free rider problem when the budget busters are medicare/caid and ss.

I wonder how many of those people are buying $60 bags of pot a week too. That's a shame.

My dad is in the process of applying for disability (one of the people who actually need it-he suffered major head trama and was hospitalized for 2 months, and we had to teach him how to walk again). His business eventually closed upon his return, as he couldn't run it effectively anymore. He has applied to probably 150 jobs over the course of a year. Not one offer, and 2 (I repeat TWO interviews). We're talking about jobs at places like walmart, dollar general, etc..

I certainly blame the people who abuse the system for the fact that he is going to have to wait another 2 years to receive his benefits.

I send him money every week. He is also getting divorced. So when I say your story is infuriating, I mean it.

Yeah, I can see how that would be infuriating. Most of my work is actually in the housing projects in rural areas, and those folks have NOTHING. I have run across some that have their hand out, but most just never really had a chance at succeeding in life and gave up at some point. They are able to work, but there's no work to be found. It's really depressing going there.

possibly so. it seems like the last 3 (four if we count Bush 2x) republicans trotted out there have been a flip. Socially right and Economically mid-left at best

Well, the tenants/free riders I speak of are on SSI, and most are on Medicaid.

The tenants I have on Medicare are elderly and cannot work. And they're the best tenants I have. They've got manners and shite. I love em

There is work to be found. Unfortunately, that work pays less than welfare.
