It was a pan pan out of Charleston. Coast Guard just stated that around 8pm tonight there was a report of a possible sighting of 2 ppl floating with the current off of Tybee Island in Georgia. I don't think anything came of it, but they are still relaying the alerts for all eyes to be on look out for any possible sightings of the two boys.
The boys have been out there for 4 days now. If they don't find them in the next 12 hours or so, I'm afraid that if they do find them, it won't be a good outcome.

4 days?
Dang, that's not good at all
My aunt who lives over there posted something about it on Facebook but I hadn't tracked the story.

Yeah, they've been missing since Friday. Coast Guard located their boat, it was capsized, but no trace of the boys anywhere near it.
They said that 2 life jackets were missing along with a Yeti cooler and some housing from the boat motor or something like that. CG theorized they could have used the items to make a larger flotation device so they could stay together.
There have been a lot of false alarms and false information since the discovery of the boat that always lead to dead ends. I'm afraid that, with the sudden increase of sharks off of the Southeast coast that they may have come in contact with them. There is also a documented great white (she's tagged) that has taken up residence off SC's coast. She has her pups there every year so who knows how many are out there now..they didn't tag the pups. She's known to wander as far north as NC and down near the Bahamas, usually following the Gulf Stream when she's off the NC/SC/FL coast. I just hope they didn't meet her up close and personal. Last measurement was that she was 20 feet.

I've been there and it sucks. Right after taking a new job, lived in an RV for two months while my wife finished the school year/sold our house and found a new one here in Houston. I was bored out of my mind.

Yep all I can say is thank you to whoever invented all the parts and pieces to allow streaming media

Count your blessings I almost killed an employee this morning. He didn't kill the power before getting in the water to rewire a motor on an electric aerator. I didn't know he was out there working on it and pulled up to cut on a couple aerators and hit the switch for the one he was working on.
Let's say the 480 volts that hit him probably worked better than the coffee he was drinking.

His screw up, gotta lock out/tag out that.

You need to read up on and implement proper lock out tag out procedures or you're going to end up in a world of hurt one day.

Amen. But its also just common sense and not being lazy. I know from experience how dangerous it is.

Yep spent a large part of my life in industrial construction and seen what happens when it's ignored or not done properly

I'm I/E Tech and know several older hands with skin grafts on their body from either a lack of policy or lack of paying attention. Either way, the result is very damaging.

Well our "electricians" are 2 black guys who didn't graduate high school that make minimum wage and have no electrical certification whatsoever. I cuss these guys daily just cause they forget to ground out the motors when they wire them to the starters, good luck getting to do any proper lock out procedure.
Hell I got shocked the other day after killing the main breaker cause the boxes and disconnects are 30 years old and the box is full of holes so water gets in there and messes it up

Give him a couple days off work. He's going to be more sore than he ever imagined. Probably not a useful employee til next week.

Your guys sound like a helluva liability. All bs aside, saving a few bucks an hour may end up costing your company painfully in the long run.
If you're interested in a good consultant to help you limit those liabilities, I know a good one who'd even give you a TD pricing deal. js

It's not the save a few bucks being the issue..it's not that there is an awful labor force around here...no electricians would go to work on a catfish farm to deal with our rigged up shite in 100 degree heat when they go work independently or for an electrical company and make 3x as much.
Delta Electric Co. hates us. We got tired of waiting on them to come kill the power so we could work on the boxes so we stole one of those yellow poles and just pull the fuse legs down ourselves now, and cut the locks off of the meter bases and pull them
