Im getting ready to head out myself. Longggg drive just to get the gulf. Supposed to have chances of rain the whole time.

Ah we will. Going more for my dad since he's getting older and we actually talked him into it. Add in this is my nephews first trip to the gulf and it should be pretty good.

She is going to school in ATL and wants to go to med school. So she's smart, funny, competent about sports, nearby and we click pretty well. Then she drops a bomb on me and informs me she is in a wheelchair.
She was very laid back about it. Wasn't trying to guilt me into anything and said it in a way that made it seem like she fully expected that to be the end of things. I was completely shocked because up until this point, her and I had gotten along great and I had no idea how to feel about this. You don't really prepare yourself for this kind of thing and so when it happens, you don't know how to react.
Talked to her about it and it turns out she was born a few months early and weighed less than 2 pounds. She isn't paralyzed or anything, she just isn't able to walk around because she can't support herself for that long. So she is fully functional, but she gets around in a wheelchair.
so yeah...that was my night. Hit it off great with an awesome chick and then get a bombshell dropped on me. So I'm still kind of trying to process all that shite right now.

yea, its not a bad little place. It had some trashy people but that is because we took the ferry and rented beach chairs. It was also the fourth weekend so I'm assuming these livingston parish types saved up all year to go that weekend. We just went as a day trip. The fort is cool to look at it but not much history with it.
If we go again we are going with friends that have a boat and just riding out to the north side of the island. If you take the ferry id suggest just bringing a rolling ice chest, small chairs and a umbrella and just set up on the north side instead of walking across to the south side.
