Fat folks are a drain on society, try encouraging them instead.

They started to trickle into my gym today

Hopefully there won't be too many up in there early in the morning, at least.

Do the other ladies on the ellipticals get aggravated as well?

Support bro. While gym is great, you have to change diet as well. All joking of the thread aside I wish you the best.

I was 250 before I decided to not be fat 8 years ago.

Been under 180 since.

40 years old and 204 is not too bad. I appreciate the support! It's not because I am lazy by any means. It's because my work schedule the past 3 years have been terrible. My normal day is 7:15am - 8-9:00pm Mon-Fri and 8am - 3pm every Saturday.

Yes, I am off on Sundays but with my work hours, Sundays are my time to go to Church and run all of my errands.

That's going to change in 2016!

How tall are you?

The day I walked into the 8th grade I was 5'8, and weighed 145. Decided to start working out. The day I walked into the 9th grade I was 5'10, weighed 225, and was benching 275.

When I was 19 I weighed 235, and through the course of my employment, I figured out I could easily carry a 225 lb piece of slate in my hands, I could flip a 750 lb hot tub end-over-end up a set of stairs, and I could carry a 450 lb pool wall on my shoulder....if I had a wee bit of help getting it there.

I say that to say this. Young men, and fat men, be careful. Don't overestimate yourself.

I'm only 29, and while I'm still an oxe in small moments, it caught up to me. This time last year I weighed 317, mainly because I kept the appetite. My right shoulder has basically been rebuilt, my right hip is in pain most days, my back kills me, and I'm starting to wonder if my left shoulder isn't starting to go.

Lift careful, and lift right. I never wore a weight belt. Yes, I tried to always lift with my legs, but that isn't always possible. It's easy to tweak something the wrong way just once.

For the record, I'm down into the mid 260s. I carry it surprisingly well, but I'm still too big. At least my BP is still good. I average 114/75.

Who uses an elliptical??

But to your point. Fatties are the worst, especially after new years. The really skinny dudes are just as bad. There is nothing worst than having to wait on some 120lb kid with glasses trying to bench the bar and 10lb weights on each side... This is why I have a home gym.

Pretty stupid to pay for a gym membership, even if you are going to waste hours every day working out.
