There's a new Frozen ride at Epcot, the fast pass line was 3 hours. frick that. We asked an employee at a restaurant there if the ride was that good, she said it was "that new"

We actually didn't have much trouble getting on rides, when we could keep the fricking herd in agreement with what we were doing

That would kill me.

I went there with my wife in 2010 and it was a blast because we had this Waze like app that told us what rides had the shortest wait so we ran all over the park to the rides that had the shortest lines. We maybe waiting an hour that day total.

I couldn't even imagine trying to do that in such a big group. I would probably just say "lets meet back at ____ at ____" and take off without them just to keep my sanity.

Only rides we used Fast Pass for the entire week were there were Safari at Animal Kingdom, Soarin' at Epcot, and the Toy Story ride at Hollywood Studios. We abused the single rider lines. Those lines are genius. I rode Expedition Everest at Animal Kingdom about 5 times while my wife and kids ate just going through the single rider line.

The Toy Story ride was crazy. We went and got one about 30 minutes after the park opened and it gave us a time to come back at like 3 or 4 in the afternoon, and when we got there the Fast Pass line was still about 30 minutes. That was the longest line we waited in all week.

I think you can go online and reserve times to ride certain rides now. They still have the Fast Pass kiosk at certain rides, but the big rides are sold out before you even get to the park with the online system during peak times.

Correct. You can book up to 3 fast passes per day (must be in the same park) but the catch is that all the slots for the popular rides get taken up quickly.

If you're staying at the park, you can make your reservations 60 days + the number of days you're staying in advance. So if you're there 4 days, you can make them 64 days out.

Set a calendar reminder and make them the very first day you can do it or you've got 0 shot at getting everything you want. The other trick is to make your fast pass reservations for later in the day and head for the most popular rides right when the park opens (especially if you're in the park that's giving people staying on-prem a head start). The lines don't really get long until all the day trip people start showing up.

We went last October right after the Seven Dwarves coaster opened. At 9:00 the wait wasn't 10 minutes. After lunch, it was an hour.

Once you're in the park, you can book more fast pass reservations on a one at the time basis using either a kiosk or the DisneyWorld app, but trying to do so is a useless exercise. The reservations for the popular rides will have been gone for months and the other rides don't need a reservation.

Same goes for character reservations. If you've just GOT to dine at a certain place with certain characters, find out how far in advance you can book a reservation and do it that very day. If you don't you're going to be out of luck.

can you get line pass tickets for extra at Disneyworld? Going in November, trying to figure out some basics

Check out some of the fan-run websites like All Ears and WDW Magic. I think they know more about Disney than the folks that work there.

Also, get the app. It is extremely useful.
