Happens to me as a recurring dream of people I know talking to me and threatening me and me not able to respond. I only do it during afternoon naps. Happens a couple times a year.

Had this many times. fricking sucks. Always a shadowy looking figure in the corner.

The worst part is trying to scream, breath, or do anything and that realization you can't. It's terrifying.

I went to scream but nothing came out...that's when I felt pressure on my lips and I heard a voice that said "shh, shh...everything will be alright." And that was it. The voice was not warm but also non threatening...very neutral. Still freaked me out though.

Did that voice also talk at length about pudding?

Honest question: Is this something that happens primarily to overweight people? I ask because I'm in great shape and have always been in great shape and I've never once experienced this.

However, I frequently lucid dream. Typically I wake up every morning and remember at least 3 - 4 dreams. Usually my dreams are nightmares, but I've had crazy nightmares for most of my life. I've gotten to the point that nightmares are no longer nightmares because I've become desensitized to crazy dreams.

At this point, all of my dreams including the nightmares are exciting! And if I happen to have a recurring dream/nightmare, I will immediately be in a lucid state where I am aware of my presence within the dream and somewhat able to control my destiny because I've been in this dream before.

One particular experience is a lucid nightmare where I suddenly realize that I'm standing in the middle of a city street at night. I look around and notice that the city appears to be abandoned. Dark windows. No signs of life. Just flickering street lamps and blowing debris.

Yet, I sense that I'm being watched. And I become keenly aware of the wind. At first the wind sounds normal, but I realize that the sound I'm hearing is not wind, but rather the distant howl of Satan's roar.

At that moment, I realize that I'm in extreme danger and I begin running thru the streets of this desolate cityscape. I run thru buildings and hide, but the howl of the "wind" continues to strengthen. I know the strengthening wind means that Satan is closing in on me and I must keep moving.

After a while the roar of the wind becomes deafening. I'm panicking and I run out of a dark building and sprint down the street toward another building.

The roaring wind stops. Everything becomes silent. I stop running and stand still in the middle of the street.

I turn around to look down the street. All I can hear is the sound of my accelerated heartbeat.

Suddenly a dark and intimidating beast runs into the street about 2 or 3 blocks away. It's Satan. He stops for a moment, locks his evil black eyes on me, and then he releases a bellowing demonic roar.

I scream back to him something like, "Come on, mutherfricker! Get it done! Come on!"

Satan begins sprinting down the street toward me, roaring with rage. I continue to scream at him and put my arms out like Christ on the cross awaiting his arrival.

Usually this dream would normally end with Satan slamming into me at incredible speed causing my body to explode into a bloody mess, thus immediately ending the dream with my awaking.

However, a few years ago I made something different occur in the dream. As Satan approached my body, I suddenly jumped...but this wasn't an ordinary jump, it was a superman type leap into the clouds.

I could see the curvature of the Earth. I could see the edge of space. I was above the clouds. It was peaceful. It was quiet.

Then I realized that I was falling back down to Earth, back down to Satan's dominion, and I could once again hear his angry roar.

However, I no longer was fearful of Satan. I was fearful of hitting Earth from my tremendous fall. I knew I was going to die from this free fall and I relaxed as I quickly approached Earth. I closed my eyes just before I hit the ground.

Except I didn't die.

I bounced. And this time I went even higher. At that moment I realized that I could jump vast distances. Falls in this dream would not hurt me. And my dream shifted from a nightmare to something more like a superhero dream where I jumped across the landscape miles at a time.

It was an incredible experience!

Well, I think I've seen your actual picture before (on your company's website) and I would say borderline.

No, they both sleep like rocks unless they're hungry or need to pee.

This

Probably happened to me a couple of dozen times in my lifetime, does it really happen bc you're overly tired?

That would makes sense as it actually happened to me this morning and I've been exhausted lately

I hot two hours of sleep last night working on a Christmas commission just to wake up at 6:00 am to tackle a 10 hour work day and I feel fine albeit a little drained.

I did the MR340 4 day 4 night endurance race without any sleep.

Never once has this happened to me.

I've had a dream where a huge spider was descending from the ceiling headed right for my face, and the only thing I can move is my neck and head. I shake my head side to side more violently the closer he gets. When he gets just a few inches from my face, I wake up, but can move my body.

My sleeping "problem" is that my whole body will sometimes just jump right as I'm getting into a deep sleep. Wakes me up and takes several minutes to get back to sleep.

Also, has anyone ever fell asleep with an arm above your head? That's the strangest feeling waking up and your whole arm is numb and just swinging there.

#4- My wife was out of town and I saw a fat dude with one of those over-the-neck concession carries you see the guys carrying at sports games when they sell peanuts or cokes or whatever, but this one was real old-timey. He was wearing a t-shirt that was way too small, some jeans, and a ballcap. He had a pretty blank expression on his face, didn't seem sinister at all, but then reached into the box he was carrying and pulled out a rat which he then tossed into my bed. Then another. . .and another. . .and another. When I'm finally able to move I spring out of bed, start swatting the covers (which, in turn, wakes my dogs up), and yelling "why the frick are you throwing rats at me?!" to someone who obviously wasn't there.
