Lake Arthur, LA police detective who was exposed as a KKK member was fired Wednesday and all his cases are being reviewed, officials said.

I hope all these cop haters get their car's broken into tonight. I mean, sure, a cop isn't going to prevent it from happening. But who are you going to file a report with after the fact? Someone has to be there to let you know that the odds of finding the thief are very low.
Or better yet, maybe something more serious like a home break-in will happen. Bet they won't be laughing when they are in urgent need of a cop to show up in 15-20 minutes.

Both of my parents were Military Police -- hated the Military, loved helping people. If it's a joke, then sorry to take you seriously (as I always am), if not, the prejudiced irony is pretty funny.

OMG I agree with Stonehog!
Well, technically there was this one time my neighbor's truck was being broken into, bit the cops didn't show up for 3 hours so they weren't much help.
Eta: there's more money in writing speeding tickets than fighting crime, which is why there's always cops policing traffic but they take hours to show up for a burglary in progress.

We've used cops to direct traffic. All those formal hand gestures to direct traffic after high school games.
