It's definitely rewarding as a parent to see your child put their time and energy towards doing things like this rather than focusing on themselves.

She amazes me sometimes with the things she comes up with. She is way too smart for her own good and sometimes when you combine that with her naivety it makes for good humor. She came to me a few months ago with a petition she wanted me to sign to help shut down a puppy mill. She had heard at school what puppy mills were and she decided she had to stop them. She google searched "puppy mills in MS" and one of the top choices was Sunshine Mills in Madison Co. Sunshine Mills is not a puppy mill, it is a dogfood plant. I explained this to her and it seemed like I broke her heart by telling her.

eta: To everyone that has commented, thank you. Things like this are what makes being a parent worth it. Hopefully she will continue down this path. She's a great kid and I feel like she will accomplish something great in her life. Regardless of if she does or doesn't I still love her the same.

I would be impressed if some of my coworkers had as much initiative as your daughter does.

Ain't that the fricking truth? The way you say that makes me think we might work for the same company.
