Just stock up on beer and dope.

Unless you get a direct hit, you won't have much storm surge.

New moon, lower High Tide (pointed out by JD on DR), and the storm spins counterclockwise with the prevailing winds paralleling the coast in Georgia on the weak side of the storm.

Unless its a direct hit (and it may well be) you should be fine.

After this storm passes, go on local craigs list and get a steal on a generator and window AC unit, brand new condition.

Can I have your stuff?

Good luck - If you see Jim Cantore, just give up; it's all over then.

Fill up on gas. Get some bottled water or jugs. Wouldn't hurt to get some canned food or something that won't spoil. Batteries.

Pretty much, sold the house shortly after. It was an small old house built after the big one down there in the 1920's. All the houses around it were post 1980's and McMansions. The new owners bought it just for the lot and tore down the house right after purchase. I was not there when it happened but the demolition guys said they hit a scorpion city and it was surreal as they kept pouring out of the ground.

I imagine it looked a bit like this.

If you dont have to stay, pack a bag go on a weekend vacation then come back after things settle down. Much easier to get supplies a few states over. If you stay and your neighborhood gets slammed, what are your plans? Better to leave, come back and let insurance sort out the losses
