I've warned her not to think of it as being a get-rich-quick or even a profit-quick scheme. She knows I'm not crazy about it (nearly got lured into the Advocare game in college), but if she wants to dabble with her own "fun money," as we like to call it in our budget, she can knock herself out as far as I'm concerned.

My SiL has done advocare, Mary Kay, and southern living.
She did pretty welk with MK but stil.... Drives me nuts.

This is how it is at our house too, but I usually have no restrictions on what I go out and buy. I don't use a debit card though, because I lose receipts too easily.
(My father taught me to balance a checkbook, but I never took it to heart, but I'm a spendthrift so it never really affected me that I didn't keep up with my funds.)

See, if my woman had some itch to sell (don't take that the wrong way) I would advise her to go into real estate. It's quite easy to get a license (60 hr class, state exam) and then all of a sudden you're a professional. And you can set your own hours. You can customize your own niche. I've known women who did it as a side job a few hours a week, and women who were obsessive workaholics 100+ hours a week. Proportionally successful. It's a great field for women who can sell.
