I thought it was telling that Apple finally released a cheaper product. They knew that Android was getting the market with the low cost variants and decided to play ball. Personally I think the colors are very wild , but it will get some people in the market who don't want to pay in excess of $200 for a new phone.

The 5S was a pretty meh upgrade in terms of how much better their beta models usually are (3GS over original, 4S over the 4.) Gold appears to be an ugly color on a phone Finger print thing is pretty cool as an alternative to a passcode, but I don't buy that it stays local to the phone ./tinfoilhat

I think the 5C is going to be a bigger hit than the 5S

Well, I'm do for an upgrade, so I'll take the black 5S. Also the 5S comes with it's own case so that's a plus.

I have had the 4 since July 2010. Somehow it is not in a dozen pieces. That being said, I will be getting the 5s the second it comes out.

I have a windows nokia lumia 920. I actually like it better than an iphone...but the apps are what holds it back. They just got instagram recently..but no snapchat and others. If they were caught up in the apps department it wouldn't be a contest.

my biggest question on the fingerprint reader is what happens if/when you get a cut on your finger?

I truly don't get all the apple love. All of their products are way overpriced for what you get. Doesn't make sense to me at all. If it's all about apps, don't make sense to me either.

Apple products are for two kinds of people. The technologically retarded and people that care about the look more than the capability of what they're buying.

Then you're the rare exception that I've seen. Almost everyone I know that loves Apple falls into one of the two of those categories.

True. It's a consumer electronics company. Not really for technology literate people.

I can admit I'm technologically challenged. When I was young, computer lab consisted of playing Oregon Trail.

they really are. after 10+ years in technology and longer than that it really is amazing watching their fall and rise back to power.

they have completely sold the idea of software and phones for idiots as being cool. their biggest fanboys are a bunch of know nothing jon snows hipsters.

after dealing with corporate level people for the last few years i can say without a doubt they do not give two sheets about the consumer. on the enteprise, educational, or individual level.

i've never really wanted to hit somebody in my professional career, but my Apple sales manager was one of the biggest slimeballs and douche bags i've ever met and i never got the sense that he was different than his counterparts. he pulled some stuff that made me want to deck him in front of our CEO when he bald faced lied to them.
