You have correctly identified Evangelical theology with respect to end times as a monolithic belief. Gold star for you.

Yeah, you should go ahead and shut up

Very good read. Definitely interesting stuff.
Yea cut and dry statistics. Its funny that there were actually a few people in this thread that seemed to get pretty angry at the article as if it was an opinion piece. When it was nothing more than data collected, organized into a table of stats. I guess they didnt like the truth.
There was at least 2 responses from major idiots that acted like it was some sort of conspiracy theory that muslims views werent represented. If you noticed they just mentioned muslims. Not the fact that hindus, mormons, or buddhists were also not mentioned. I guess thats the type of empty brain you get when you listen to talk radio and fox news all day. :/

And there it is--your perpetual axe to grind against fox news
You were good up until there.

And good afterwards as well since its the truth. Doing the fake laugh thing just makes you seem like are covering up for being butthurt. Like when you were mad earlier and you didnt know how to respond to this thread so you awkwardly did the double laugh emoticon to a bunch of simple, lame hashtags by rabblerabble. Its all very transparent, you arent fooling anyone.

Or I was in a good mood and Rg's post made me laugh? Such deception, my God
Why are you upset? I'm not upset over things like this because I get along with people of all faiths (or no faith, as it were).
Very odd reaction from you, man. Lighten up

That is a good piece. I enjoy Pew and they are a very respected polling service. They've done quite a bit of work on Islam. Y'all may find this one answers a lot of questions.
Highly disturbing, but the exact same source as the original post's link

Take the results for non Christians with a grain of salt. The margin of error for some groups responses was + or - 12%.

No, I got it. I was just letting the opportunity to pick up a sex joke go in the interest of conversation.
Crazy, right?

Evangelical leaders, although opposing abortion on the grounds that human life is precious, hoot and holler when Rick Perry brags about executing more people than any other governor in US history.
I've never understood why the Left has traditionally made the claim that you can't be against abortion, but for capital punishment. Abortion is seen as ending an innocent life, while capital punishment of the guilty is justified in Old Testament traditions.
A more interesting conversation to me is why most Christians don't accept Christ's teachings on forgiveness and loving your enemy? If the Left traditionally walked down that line, I think they'd get more traction in trying to end the death penalty.

The Left/Right paradigm on the issues of abortion and capital punishment I think is illusory. Many paleo-conservatives and right-leaning libertarians oppose both abortion and capital punishment, each for different reasons. Many on the left support both abortion and capital punishment.
My point is that having any of these groups or sects preach Christ's gospel will have ZERO effect on most evangelicals in this country, because evangelical Christianity, as a political movement, is fundamentally opposed to many of the basic tenets of Christ's philosophy. Look at how they treated Ron Paul, who was booed by my Palmetto State brethren in 2012 when he talked about applying the Golden Rule in matters of foreign policy. These same people cheered Newt Gingrich at the same debate when he talked about nuking Iran and pre-emptive bombing.
Were Jesus Christ to return in the flesh, he would be a social pariah in today's evangelical Christian community.

I know that is in reference to me and the lack of same attention being given in the analysis. Ftr.. I don't watch Fox news, or any other network or cable news outlets. My point is valid and remains. It focused mainly on a couple of groups and neglected to provide analysis of what was supposedly the full study. Why is that? And why so offended when I simply asked a question. Islam breeds hatred, intolerance. As far as hindus, Mormons and buddihists.. are there hundreds of millions of them in the world today, as Muslims claim themselves to be? Hell, isn't there an even LARGER amount of Muslims than Jews in America? Seems like a pretty slanted study. Sorry to point out some obvious.

Perhaps race wasn't the proper term, but clan certainly applies. Many people are ethnically Jewish, and embrace the culture and traditions that come along with that, but completely reject the Jewish faith. Anthropologists are able to identify Hebrew peoples via skull and bone analysis. Add in that Judaism largely doesn't proselytize, and I think that it's pretty clear that Jews are without question a people separate from Anglo-Saxons.

Not saying that they don't exist, but I've never met a self-proclaimed liberal who supported the death penalty. Is there someone on this board who would fall into this category?

This I absolutely agree with. Sadly.
