Better get another beer.
I'm kinda jaded. I respect them sure, but I've lived through 3-4 or these.
Stay inside, don't be dumb.

No. Open Bar at a hotel in the Woodland hills area.

That must be Berryville, Ark. Booneville is way south of this line of storms.

Some huge hail there. Strong up drafts in these storms.

Catoosa area tornado. Maybe it will hit the Hard Rock hotel, home of the Toby Keith bar.
Seriously, this is heading right down 412 still. It might clip NWA.

Impressive signature just east of Tulsa on radar.

Local tv showed chopper video with transformers blowing e. of Tulsa.

You could spot that on the radar without the warning boxes. Pretty tight rotation from the relative velocity. Hope 3nout wasn't in the path.

Moore, Ok just hit by an unwarned tornado.

Damn. They had a bad one just a few years ago.
Looking pretty good here in Tulsa. Some thunder and lightning but pretty calm.

Moore gets hit by a bad tornado every 4-5 years it seems. They can barely build back before another one hits. I don't think I'd ever live in the OKC area. Tulsa seems to get less activity in general. It gets hilly rather suddenly between here and there and it seems to keep our tornado activity at bay.
If one was to hit Fayetteville, the best approach would be from the NW, as its pretty much the only flat area approach into town. North of here it plateaus until you get to Bella Vista, so those cities are flatter and more open to getting hit. Fayetteville is shielded by some good sized ridges southwest and west of town.

Tulsa channel 8 is a local channel on NWA cable. If this fricker stays along 412, its going to go right through the middle of Siloam Springs. Its getting into the region now.

I don't know. I used to think that mountains protected but last August upper East, TN got hammered in several mountain counties. One in particular did serious damage - Sheriff's house and a grocery store were completely destroyed. That one generated in another mountain county but laughed at the ridges and valleys as it plowed toward the other county.

On a related note, I scheduled my garage to be re-roofed tomorrow. They wanted to start Tuesday but I made them reschedule. I'm sure glad I did.

I know they can occur in mountainous areas. The thinking here is that we are a plateau, and there is a sudden uplift so any organized storm coming in from Oklahoma tends to pop back up into the clouds or fall apart. Shallow cold air that drops shitloads of snow on Tulsa will get hung up to the west. It takes a deep airmass to overcome that uplift.
That's just what the weatherman here says. OKC is flat as a board and those plains just bake and create the perfect environment. I know we are vulnerable to smaller storms, but I have confidence the monsters will stay west of here. Maybe false confidence...
