I haven't had a cigarette since 2/1/14. I used nicotine nasal spray. You have to REALLY want a cigarette to spray that shite up your nose. I gained 20 lbs, and don't feel any better/worse for having quit.

I still miss smoking at least 2 times a day. I think you don't actually live longer, it just feels that way

For people that say they gained weight, was it because you ate instead of using tobacco?

Every time I try to quit I find the same true for me (wanting to eat ridiculously)

I read somewhere (could have been here - so it might be full of shite) that nicotine releases endorphins. When one quits nicotine, he/she may inadvertently replace that deficit with the release of endorphins one gets when full.

It kind of makes sense

Is this nasal spray by prescription? Never heard of it but sounds interesting. Is it nasty tasting? Thanks.

Yes, it's by prescription. The nicotine burns like pepper, so you begin to behaviorally associate a craving with a negative sensation.

The product is called Nicotrol NS. It'll get you through to where you would rather have the craving than to enjoy the nicotine.

dip is possible, I used that beef jerky chew to quit. Tasted good and still stung which was nice for the brain.

Having quit dipping, I can definitely say that. I'd keep a dip in for 2-3 hours at a time (with some fresh dip every hour or so) and wouldn't snack. After quitting, snacks filled my dip time. I gained 10 lbs. It's slowly coming off.

when i went on antidepressants for a while it caused my head to hurt when i would use tobacco at the same time. I never got the nicotine high anymore, just headaches. So i quit and never went back

I quit my 20+ yr addiction to smoking by Vaping. I haven't even thought about a cigarette in 8 months. With Valing, I can wean myself off the nicotine, and it gives me the same sensations as smoking, (i.e. Inhaling and blowing out a cloud.). I have not missed the stench of smoke, the coughing all night, shortness of breath, etc. it works perfectly for me.
(There are numerous really good Vaping mods out there, so don't think all vapers use those ridiculously huge tubes that you see some with. Feel free to PM me if you'd like to know more. I have helped a few friends quit smoking with vaping.)

OK I'm interested in the vape. What kind of money do you spend versus the cigs? Thanks.

Cold turkey, felt crappy for three days. Felt a little jumpy for three weeks. Then all good. 10 years ago.

I quit last December by vaping. Gradually reduced the level of nicotine without choking the little old ladies in the checkout line trying to use expired coupons.

I'm saving a ton of money by vaping (with the added pleasure of telling the govt to kiss my (_!_).

I've tried and failed many times. This has been easy. Highly recommend. No weight gain.
