This is the main point of this thread
For the sake of comparison, per the 2010 census African-Americans made up 13% of the country and Hispanics/Latinos made up 15%. Considering coverage of both for an extended period of time it's comparable to most other minority groups.

The number of people who identify as gay vs. the number of people who are gay is different. Only when society is so accepting of gays that they are comfortable enough to outwardly identify as homosexual will the actual number be known.

Intolerance of gays is no longer tolerated, even though gays are icky.

The reported number is around 1.8% (exclusively homosexual), but the actual number is likely triple that at a minimum.

So your saying that up to 18 million people in the US alone want to PIIMB?

Where have you heard the triple number?

Whole lotta gay people aren't comfortable publically discussing it or admitting to it in this country.
The percentages of homosexuality are significantly higher in western European countries where it is more accepted. About 6% of those in England claim homosexuality exclusively, and 8% of those combined from Sweden, Finland and Norway are.
It's exceedingly unlikely that the US as a percentage is 3-4 times "less gay".

I'm not saying you are wrong. I was just wondering if that was a Roger estimation or someone else's.

Given that a lot of people who aren't exclusively gay want to PIIYB as well, probably a lot more than that.

I would say full blown gay, not attracted at all to the opposite sex is probable less than 3%.
Transgender is even a smaller percentage.
Bisexual, depending on how you'd define someone as being bi, is probably 10-15% if you include all the girls who have "experimented" on each other.

A rate of population this high not driven to propagate would make the species an evolutionary failure. We doomed.

2% claim it
I would wager 4% in reality in the closet.

So as homosexuality has become more socially acceptable we should see a higher percentage of people identifying as gay. We don't.
Long story short, excuses excuses. Ain't many gay peeps.

The problem is the gays aren't reproducing fast enough.
