You are wrong. Although, the people I know we're approached from a hacked e-mail of a friend. So it was legitimate in that regard.
And it asked for airfare and in a normal type request.

One time a few years ago a dude on the deacon board I'm with spammed one of these emails to the entire board.

He said he was in Nicaragua on a mission trip and that they were robbed and he needed money to get back. What was crazy is that the dude was actually in Costa Rica at that time and most of us knew he was in South America but not necessarily where.

One dude started emailing him direct and was going to send the money based in the guy being able to answer a bunch of questions he obviously figured out from the guy's Facebook page. We finally stopped him before he gave the information.

While gullible, I'll give it to the dude for trying to help.
