Fight me IRL, bro.
Interesting, our education and career are quite similar.
Most tech folks I know gravitate towards Android. iOS is for teen girls and mee maws.
And I'm a lover not a fighter. XOXO

Wait, I think we are mixed up. I hate iOS. I was just saying I like their Market system better...that was it. The rest, I prefer Android

Fair enough. I'm just saying--outside of games--the markets are functionally equivalent IMO, and in my experience.
iTunes has a decided advantage on games.

Which is owned by Google. I believe. Not sure, could be wrong.

That's kind of what I meant. From the marketplace, I don't venture too far outside of games/entertainment.

You might be thinking Motorola. But they punted them recently.
LG just makes the Nexus 4/5 . . Samsung made the Nexus Galaxy, I think HTC maybe made one before that.

I guess the Nexus is just a huge whore

Most of Apples technology was funded by the government.
They're not a shining triumph of capitalism, taxpayers made them what they are today.

Android is dominating market share
Sure but that's a misleading way to make your point. iOS is on ONE device. Android runs on dozens.

This is true, but often the decision comes down to "apple" or "adroid."
Once you pick android, you have options. It's like Windows in that regard.
And to be fair, android "dominating" marketshare also includes all the crap phones no one should be forced to use.
A more apt comparison would be to compare "flagship" sales - the Galaxy S series, plus nexus, plus HTC One, plus Moto X, and compare that to apple.

Google has to be careful to not favor one manufacturer over another--I'm pretty sure that's why they deliberately spread it around.
I think they'll get out of the business all together--I love Nexus and prefer their phones and tablets.
But Samsung is none too happy to peddle android/google/google services with Google peddling other hardware.
Also, Samsung wants to move away from Android--that should be craptastic.

I have had the same macbook that I bought before college over 7 years ago. I have never had any problems with it whatsoever. (knock on wood)
In that same time frame, I have watched my sister and mom (individually) go through at least 4 different PC's. In my experience, I am way too happy where I am in that regard.
With that being said, I work on a PC everyday and it makes me think hard about getting one at home pretty often now.
Concerning iPhone, iPod, and iPad I will probably always stick with apple products. I like the simplicity of the OS.
To address something you specifically said earlier about Jobs innovation when he cornered the market with smartphones and tablets and doing nothing since then, my question to you would be this:
What are you looking for from apple? Do you think they have to completely change the smartphone/tablet market every year to be innovative?
It's like saying that in a three year span they should create the equivalent strides between the first Nokia phone, the first color screen flip phone, and then the iPhone. I don't understand how that is even remotely feasible.

To be fair, the total amount each spent was probably the same. I love my macbook. Had two, one started fricking around with me, so I took it apart...shot up the screen. But the Macbooks are way overpriced IMO.

I spent like 1200 dollars on mine (laptop) at the time. Let's just say conservatively that the PC's are 600 (desktop).
That's 2400 (for each of them) to my 1200 over 7 years.
I don't see how you came to this conclusion.
