If you follow this link, scroll down there is a google map that has businesses in Gatlinburg and nearby areas that have been burned labeled. Click the label and you can see what the business is.

LINK /

Some of the businesses include: The Park Vista Hotel, Mysterious Mansion, Black Bear Falls Log Home Community, and Hillbilly Golf

Are we talking about the downtown area?

The strip and most of downtown made it, but a lot of the surrounding cabins and homes didn't.

It's terrible, basically both sides of Gatlinburg were on fire but the firefighters were able to stop it before it got to downtown. More 30-50 mph winds expected tonight and some rain. It's not over by any means.

I saw video and a pic today of the Park Vista. It is still there, although with the flames getting as close as it did, I don't know how. TEMA reported that Ober Gatlinburg had been destroyed, but someone shot video of it this morning. A lot of incorrect info is getting out there.

Easy to understand in this situation. Take the Ober report, which came from TEMA which should be considered a reliable source. Now that people are getting back in, the road to Ober looks like a wasteland with total devastation so it is easy to see how "road to Ober" got twisted to Ober in the heat of the moment.

Proud to say I don't know who that is, but I'd strongly encourage him to come down to east Tennessee and say that in person.

That's a badass video.

The great thing about the south compared to say California is we always have rednecks willing to go into the face of death to get a good natural disaster video

If you don't think there are rednecks in California... well, I take it that you've never been to California. Most of the state is as redneck as the south. The Bay Area and Los Angeles don't make up the entire state.
