He made it more mainstream, but that doesn't mean he's the one that ruined it. Those that came after it and the generation that ate up Honkey Tonk Ba donk, She thinks my Tractor's sexy, and Dirt Road anthem are to blame.

Garth is amazing and I say he should be Top 10 if not Top 5 or 3 but to give credit where credit is due ...

never got the love for George Strait. Not saying he's bad, but he has never been near the top for me. personal preference i guess on his style of music. but i will say they don't make 'em like that any more.

i have a hard time believing that most of country today has ever seen a country road, muchless a cow.

I understand that but you can't argue against all of George's #1s ... that's why I think he's GOAT even though I prefer Garth over George. FWIW I love George though too.
