Because JJ Abrams is decidedly an above average director who hasn't sucked at ScFi thus far.
Frick, he made morning glory and I love that movie. Maybe because of Rachel McAdams' fine rear end, but Abrams does a pretty good job.

You've already known the ending to all of it for 32 years. There isn't much to improve on. For someone to think its going to be better than the first 3 movies is just setting themselves up for disappointment.

I'm not saying the movie will blow. I pray it doesn't. However, after they destroyed the Star Wars franchise with the prequel bullshite, how anyone can be anything beyond cautiously optimistic is beyond me.....

Based on what JJ Abrams did to revive the Star Trek franchise, I have high hopes. So far, shite looks legit.

He just drove up the exit and seems totally oblivious to the fact that there's a cop after him.
Since he's 72 years old, it looks pretty legit to me.
